For Pet grooming, boarding and daycare operators

Gingr costs $109 to $179 a month. Own PetKit for $149 once.

Pet profiles, boarding and grooming booking, reminders and a pet-parent portal, except the code is yours and the add-ons stop being line items.

The verdict

PetKit replaces Gingr for pet grooming, boarding and daycare operators: a one-time $149 instead of paying $109 to $179/mo indefinitely, and you own the source code and the database. Keep Gingr if you want a hosted system with a vendor support team and a vendor-run payments setup, and you would rather not deploy anything.

What's actually different

Feature parity is table stakes. The real shift is ownership.

Add-ons become built-ins

Reminders and pet profiles ship inside PetKit, and one kit covers grooming, boarding and daycare. There is no add-on price to discover after you sign up.

Your payments, your rates

Card payments go to your own Stripe account at its standard published rate, instead of a vendor payments program.

Pet and owner records stay yours

Breed, vaccination dates, medical notes, photos and visit history live in your own database.

How switching works

Most operators take 2-3 weeks end to end. We handle the data migration; you handle the customer-facing brand polish.

  1. 1

    Export your reports

Gingr exports reports as files. Export your client, pet and vaccination reports before you start.

  2. 2

    Deploy PetKit

Accept the repository invitation and follow the README to deploy on your own Supabase and Vercel.

  3. 3

    Import clients and pets

Load the exported files with the CSV import, or send a custom request for help with mapping.

  4. 4

    Run both for a week

Take new bookings in PetKit, let existing stays finish in Gingr, then cancel. PetKit does not include employee scheduling, so keep that elsewhere if you use it.
